This is how my indoor gardening journey started- Let me take you back to 2021, smack dab in the middle of the COVID craziness. Picture this: I’m on a mission for fresh, organic veggies, but our local grocery store just isn’t cutting it.
Living in our cozy mountain community, our options were limited, not organic and a tad overpriced. Sure, we hit the farmers’ market when we could, but those short, precious weeks of veggie bliss felt like a tease.
Determined to have our own little garden oasis, I got crafty. Armed with flower boxes and a dream, I set up shop in the basement. But, our tiny garden was soon invaded by pesky fungus gnats. Rookie mistake, right?
Then, I was gifted a hydroponic garden for Christmas. Talk about a game-changer! Forget traditional gardening—this was going to be our ticket to veggie paradise, I just knew it. We started with a 42-port NFT table for herbs and greens and 8 DWC buckets for tomatoes and peppers. After some alterations to our space, we were off to the races.

YouTube became my go-to, I soaked up every hydroponic hack and tip I could find. Fast forward to today, we have sinced moved to a new state and had to say goodbye to that first garden. We downsized our home and our setup: two Lettuce Grow Farmstands and—wait for it—a mushroom farm in the making!
So, who’s ready to join me on this wild ride? Get comfy, grab a snack, and let’s dive into the world of indoor gardening together. It’s gonna be a blast, I promise! If you’re looking for more info about my setup, check out my indoor garden.
